Washington, DC Position Overview Ironwood Protection Group is seeking professional, dependable, and customer-service-oriented Unarmed Security Officers for a high-profile diplomatic facility in Washington, DC. This is a permanent, full-time assignment requiring exceptional professionalism, reliability, attention to detail, and discretion. Officers will interact regularly with diplomatic personnel, employees, visitors, vendors, and members of the public. This is not a traditional observe-and-report assignment. We are looking for polished security professionals who can maintain a strong security presence while providing courteous and professional service in a diplomatic environment. Available Shifts We are hiring for the following Monday-Friday schedules: Day Shift 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Candidates should indicate their preferred shift when applying. Primary Responsibilities Provide professional access control at designated entrances. Verify identification, appointments, credentials, and visitor authorization. Screen visitors, vendors, contractors, and deliveries. Maintain visitor and access-control logs. Conduct interior and exterior security patrols. Monitor for suspicious activity and security concerns. Respond appropriately to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and unusual activity. Maintain accurate daily activity and incident reports. Assist with emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place procedures. Provide directions and professional assistance to visitors. Maintain confidentiality regarding facility operations, personnel, visitors, and security procedures. Assist with visitor screening procedures as assigned. Follow all site-specific post orders and Ironwood Protection Group policies. Minimum Qualifications Current and valid District of Columbia Security Officer (SO) license . High school diploma or GED. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English. Ability to write clear and accurate incident reports. Professional appearance and demeanor. Reliable transportation and ability to report to work on time. Ability to remain alert and professional throughout the assigned shift. Ability to stand, walk, and perform security patrol duties for extended periods. Ability to successfully complete all client and company screening requirements. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience at an embassy, diplomatic facility, government facility, corporate headquarters, or other high-profile location. Previous access-control or visitor-screening experience. Experience working in a professional or customer-facing security environment. Strong report-writing and communication skills. Familiarity with radios, CCTV, access-control systems, magnetometers, or other security screening equipment. What We Are Looking For Successful candidates will be: Professional and well-groomed.
