Job Description

St. Andrew's is seeking a security officer who will operate the welcome center by providing surveillance of campus grounds, and protecting our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Security has an on-campus presence 24/7. This person must have strong people skills, a strong work ethic, and excellent judgment. Shifts include various hours, including night, weekend, and holiday shifts that involve considerable exposure to all weather elements.
Job Responsibilities:
Monitor and authorize the entrance of vehicles and/or people on the property. Secure premises by patrolling regularly either on foot or in a vehicle. Monitor surveillance equipment. Provide excellent customer service. Adhere to all St. Andrew's operating procedures. Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to students, employees, and customers. Physically demanding tasks may include running short distances, squatting, bending, lifting (potentially removing a victim from harm's way), climbing, and handling a physical confrontation. Provide medical assistance, administering CPR, AED, or first aid as needed.
Skills and experience:
Must be at least 20 years of age. Must be a high school graduate or possess a high school equivalency certificate. Possession of valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
