Security Officer Security Guard Gatehouse Security guard We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Unarmed Gatehouse Security Officer to oversee the safety and security of our facility's entrance points. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring access, ensuring compliance with security protocols, and maintaining a safe environment for staff, visitors, and contractors. Your proactive approach and keen observation skills will be vital in preventing unauthorized access and responding swiftly to incidents. Responsibilities Control access to the premises by verifying identities of employees, visitors, and contractors using access control systems. Knowledge of ABDI or similar entry systems Conduct thorough background checks on visitors when necessary, ensuring compliance with security policies. Perform regular patrols of the facility perimeter and interior areas to identify potential security breaches or hazards. Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to observe activity and detect suspicious behavior. Write detailed incident reports documenting any security concerns, breaches, or accidents with clarity and accuracy. Manage conflict de-escalation techniques effectively while maintaining a professional demeanor during challenging situations. Qualifications Proven experience in security or law enforcement roles; military background is a plus. Knowledge of physical security measures including surveillance systems, access control systems, and patrolling techniques. Strong communication skills for incident report writing and interacting with visitors or team members. Demonstrated conflict management skills with a focus on conflict de-escalation and customer service excellence.
