Job Summary We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Access Control Officer to oversee the security of designated facilities by managing entry points, monitoring surveillance systems, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. This role involves performing thorough background checks, operating access control systems, conducting patrols, and responding swiftly to emergencies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, physical security expertise, and the ability to handle conflict de-escalation with confidence. Responsibilities Authorize and verify access for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors in accordance with security policies Operate access control systems, including badge readers and electronic logs, ensuring accurate record-keeping Conduct routine patrols of premises to maintain physical security and identify potential vulnerabilities Monitor surveillance cameras (CCTV) continuously to detect suspicious activity or security breaches Respond promptly to emergency situations by following established procedures for fire safety, medical incidents, or security threats Write detailed incident reports documenting any irregularities or incidents encountered during shifts Perform background checks on new personnel as part of the onboarding process and ongoing security assessments Qualifications Proven experience in physical security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields with a focus on access control and surveillance systems Knowledge of emergency response procedures including first aid (CPR), AED operation, Taser use, and fire safety protocols Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks when required for patrolling or equipment management Strong conflict management skills with experience in conflict de-escalation techniques Familiarity with incident report writing and compliance with security regulations and policies Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with staff and visitors Ability to perform background checks and conduct thorough screening processes for personnel or visitors Join us at Ramco Protective where your vigilance makes a difference!
