The Role & Your Impact We are seeking a full-time Commercial Property Security Officer to support overnight operations across two commercial properties in Fort Lauderdale. This is a cross-trained position that combines access control, vehicle verification, mobile patrol, and site security responsibilities. Team members rotate between multiple security functions, including vehicle access control, gatehouse operations, and overnight mobile patrol assignments. You will serve as a critical part of the property's security operation, helping maintain site integrity, protecting company assets, controlling access, and ensuring a safe and professional environment for authorized personnel, vendors, contractors, and visitors. This position is ideal for someone who understands that effective security requires vigilance, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to confidently work independently during overnight hours. Core Responsibilities Access Control & Site Security Monitor and control vehicle and pedestrian access points Verify authorization for entry and exit in accordance with site procedures Verify vehicle information, including VIN numbers and vehicle movement documentation Monitor vendor, contractor, and visitor activity Maintain accurate access control, vehicle, and visitor logs Enforce site rules, security protocols, and access procedures consistently and professionally Golf Cart Patrol & Property Protection Conduct routine golf cart patrols throughout assigned property areas Monitor for suspicious activity, unauthorized persons, loitering, solicitation, theft, vandalism, or safety concerns Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized activity Inspect assigned areas for security concerns, property damage, or operational issues Report hazards, maintenance concerns, and security incidents promptly Vehicle Control Point Operations Staff assigned vehicle control points during overnight operations Utilize company vehicles to secure designated access points Control access for authorized drop-offs, pick-ups, deliveries, and vehicle movement Maintain situational awareness while ensuring traffic control procedures are followed Verify authorization before granting access through restricted entry points Reporting & Professional Communication Complete clear, accurate daily activity logs and incident reports Document access control activity and vehicle verification records Communicate effectively with supervisors, management personnel, vendors, and site partners Maintain professionalism, courtesy, and discretion in all interactions Team Contribution & Accountability Follow post orders and company directives consistently Support smooth transitions between access control, vehicle verification, and patrol assignments Model reliability, accountability, and professional conduct at all times Contribute to a culture of teamwork, operational excellence, and continuous improvement Qualifications & Professional Requirements Required Valid Florida Class D Security License Minimum 1 year of licensed security experience Strong customer service and communication skills Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Proven ability to follow procedures and post orders Ability to write professional reports and incident documentation Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout overnight shifts Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to operate a golf cart safely Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Reliable transportation Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled Must pass pre-employment and random drug screening Must pass criminal and role-relevant background screening Must be 18 years of age or older U.S. Citizen or authorized to work with valid documentation Preferred Prior access control or gatehouse experience Experience verifying VIN numbers, vehicle documentation, or fleet inventory Experience working in commercial, logistics, transportation, or vehicle operations environments Experience conducting mobile patrols Familiarity with visitor management systems and access logs Interest in long-term security or operations advancement Compensation & Benefits SIG 9 Global is committed to providing a compensation and benefits structure that reflects our investment in people, operational excellence, and long-term professional growth. To ensure operational consistency and effective team integration, time off during the initial 90-day period is limited.
