Security Guard Job Hours would be: 4pm to Midnight, 4 days a week including weekends. When occupancy levels are high, flexibility is a plus. The overall objective of the Security Guard is to patrol and monitor our premises. In this position, you will address all areas of security, including overcrowding in the pool and common areas, monitoring wrist bands, beach and pool chair activity, preventing infractions of rules by maintaining a high visible presence and preventing theft, violence, and all illegal or inappropriate actions. You must detect, deter, observe, and report all issues to increase overall safety at Siesta Dunes and call police if support is necessary. Security Guard Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor property and maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Know the property rules, pet walk areas, children's play areas, and beach accesses.
• Watch for signs of crime or disorder. Investigate disturbances.
• Act lawfully at all times in direct defense of life or property.
• Act as a consistent presence to deter trespassers and criminals.
• Evict violators of rules and regulations.
• Remove articles left on walkways and railings.
• Report any suspicious/unusual occurrences to authorities and management.
• Patrol premises randomly and regularly, including building walkways and perimeters, pool deck, sun deck, and beach access areas.
• During spring heavy season, randomly check guests at pool and beach for wrist bands. If wrist bands are not used, then politely inform guests that they must have them to use beach chairs and pool.
• Return grocery carts to first floor and politely remind guests to do this as well.
• Monitor and control access of unit entrances, parking and vehicle gates.
• Operate equipment, golf carts, phones and other devices as needed.
• Monitor alarm systems and video cameras.
• Firmly enforce Rules and Regulations uniformly with all owners, renters and guests while still maintaining a congenial atmosphere. Rely on personal skills and diplomacy to handle rule violation or conflict.
• Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Adhere to all company service and operating standards. Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to all customers including employees, owners, renters, and guests/visitors. Security Guard Requirements and Qualifications
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Significant work experience as a security guard or other relevant position.
• Thorough training and/or current certification or security officer diploma preferred.
• Basic computer skills necessary for reporting and communications.
• Ability to operate golf carts, communication systems and emergency equipment.
• Extensive working knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
• Willingness to support the community and comply with all laws, property rules and regulations at all times.
• Keen surveillance skills and detail orientation.
• Integrity, professionalism, and character beyond reproach.
• Maintain a calm authoritative order.
• Must possess the ability to work under minimum supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills are also important.

Security Guards must interact with employees, owners, renters, and guests/visitors in a pleasant, professional manner.
