In this vital role, you will ensure a safe and secure environment through vigilant surveillance, proactive patrols, and effective incident management. Your dedication will help maintain operational integrity while providing exceptional customer service to visitors and staff alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your security expertise in a fast-paced setting, supporting safety protocols and emergency response procedures with confidence and professionalism. Duties Monitor premises using CCTV systems, surveillance equipment, and access control systems to detect suspicious activity or security breaches. Conduct regular patrols of the property to ensure physical security, identify hazards, and prevent theft or vandalism. Manage access control by verifying identities, performing background checks on visitors or contractors, and issuing security passes. Respond swiftly to emergencies by executing fire safety protocols, operating AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and applying first aid or CPR when necessary. Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other noteworthy events with clarity and accuracy. Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when required for equipment or supplies while adhering to safety standards. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or incidents requiring enforcement actions like Taser deployment or conflict de-escalation. Skills Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV cameras and monitoring multiple feeds simultaneously. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures, conflict management techniques, and emergency response protocols. Ability to perform background checks efficiently while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with visitors, staff, and contractors. Proficiency in using access control systems and security technology to manage entry points securely. Physical fitness for patrolling duties involving walking, standing for extended periods, heavy lifting, and manual handling tasks. Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, firearm handling (if applicable), Taser use (if applicable), and fire safety are highly desirable.
