Security Officer Location:
Lilburn, GA, 30047
Schedule:
40 hours per week, 235 days per year Position Overview Providence Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated Security Guard to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming campus environment. Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and the Associate Head of School, this role is responsible for protecting students, staff, visitors, and school property while supporting the school's academic and spiritual mission. Core Competencies Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and actively participates in a local church community. Upholds the highest standards of professionalism and pursues continuous personal and professional growth. Exhibits integrity and supports the academic, spiritual, and covenant mission of the Academy. Provides excellent customer service by fostering positive relationships within the school community. Key Responsibilities Ensure the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, and campus property. Conduct regular patrols of school buildings and grounds. Enforce school policies related to safety, behavior, and campus regulations (e.g., parking, trespassing, substance use, vandalism). Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized access or departures. Assist with visitor management, including maintaining logs and directing guests appropriately. Support student supervision by checking passes and escorting students when necessary. Respond to and report incidents or concerns to school leadership. Assist administrators with investigations as assigned. De-escalate conflicts and maintain order, including safely intervening in student altercations when required. Monitor campus grounds during arrival times and to discourage loitering and improper parking. Additional Duties Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Note:

Required Skills & Knowledge Understanding of security practices, safety procedures, and relevant laws/regulations (e.g., OSHA, surveillance laws). Familiarity with security systems, alarms, and communication equipment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively with staff and administration. Ability to remain calm, professional, and authoritative in challenging situations. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily operates in a school environment with indoor and outdoor duties. May work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. Must be physically capable of intervening in conflicts and maintaining crowd control when necessary. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in security or law enforcement preferred. Experience working with adolescents is a plus.
