Job Summary:
Under indirect supervision of Watch Commander and/or department supervisor, performs variety of duties to protect against emergency and safety issues; as well as, criminal violations to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and employees. Investigates reported incidents and all criminal violations of property. Essential Responsibilities:
Patrols and monitors building, premises, and parking lots of establishment to detect any criminal violations or hazardous conditions. Examines all doors, windows, and gates to determine security. Locks and unlocks doors and buildings as scheduled. Allows entry into secured areas by authorized personnel only. Monitors fire alarm system, security alarms and C.C.T.V. at Security Control Center. Dispatches officers to respond to these alarms via radio. Responsible for ensuring preparedness of facility for disasters, Homeland Security issues, or other safety/emergency issues. Detects and reports any unusual conditions, situations or malfunctions affecting safety or fires at facilities. Responds to disaster, Homeland Security, and safety/emergency issues, and provides assistance with actions as appropriate; using two radios to assists in communication as necessary. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all emergencies, fires and disasters at facilities. Responsible for daily operational support duties of the facility. Raises and lowers flags at front entrance on daily basis. Answers questions and gives directions/assistance to visitors/patients upon request. Maintains traffic control in parking lots and Emergency Department area. Issues parking citations to violators. Responds and stands-by with fire extinguisher at Heli-Pad on all landings and departures on Medi-Vac helicopters. Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property and detains personnel for further investigation when necessary. Detects and reports any criminal activity or property damage to Security Operations Center, will also detain, and assist Law enforcement agencies in the performance of protecting Kaiser Permanente property, Staff, Patients and visitors on property and submits necessary reports. Responsible for notifying public authorities as necessary, and assisting local law enforcement with active investigations to identify and prosecute suspects. Makes recommendations to supervisor on all activities that require changes in policies, procedures and budgetary requests as necessary.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Experience N/A Education High school diploma or GED. License, Certification, Registration Security Guard License (Hawaii) required at hire Driver's License (from any state) required at hire Basic Life Support within 6 months of hire
Additional Requirements:
Working knowledge of and skill in word processing PC applications. Registered Guard with the Hawaii Board of Private Detectives and Guards; or current federal, state, or county law enforcement officer.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum one (1) year of experience in law enforcement, security, or related public safety experience (e.g. corrections, firefighters).
