Armed Security Officer Video Gaming Collection Escort

Position Summary:

The Part-Time Armed Security Officer provides professional armed protection and escort services to a video gaming collection team responsible for handling and transporting cash assets throughout Illinois. This position ensures the safety of personnel and assets during collection operations conducted on Mondays. The Officer must adhere to Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) and Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) standards, as well as all company security and firearm policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Escort the video gaming collection team to assigned gaming locations each Monday to ensure the safe handling and transport of cash assets. Maintain vigilant situational awareness and continuously monitor for suspicious or unsafe activity. Provide a visible armed security presence to deter theft, robbery, or interference during collections. Secure and visually assess each site before collection begins; maintain perimeter security throughout the operation. Safely carry and operate a company-approved firearm in full compliance with Illinois law, IDFPR regulations, and company policy. Respond appropriately and lawfully to any potential threats or incidents, prioritizing team and public safety. Maintain clear communication with dispatch, the collection team, and management regarding location status and route progress. Conduct firearm, equipment, and vehicle inspections before and after the Monday shift. Complete all required daily activity and incident reports accurately and on time. Represent the company professionally while interacting with clients, location personnel, and law enforcement.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred. Prior experience in cash-in-transit, armored transport, or gaming industry security strongly preferred. Licensing and Certification (Required): Valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) issued by IDFPR. Valid Firearm Control Card (FCC) and completion of all state-mandated armed security training (225 ILCS 447/35-35). Valid Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) card. Valid Illinois driver's license with a clean driving record. Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and firearm qualification.

Skills:

Strong situational awareness and ability to respond calmly and effectively under pressure. Excellent judgment and adherence to firearm safety and use-of-force standards. Professional communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must maintain annual firearm qualification and physical fitness standards required by company policy.

Schedule and Work Environment:

Work Schedule:

Mondays only, 8-hour shift (exact shift time determined by collection route). Unless Monday falls on a major holiday, in which case the route and shift will be run on the Friday prior to the Monday holiday. Frequent travel between licensed video gaming locations in Illinois.
