Openings are immediate, so there is no waiting around once you are hired. Who We're Looking For This position does not require a law enforcement background. We welcome applications from candidates with operational experience in the United States military, active or retired firefighters, active or retired police officers, and those with extensive security experience. What matters most is a track record of reliability, sound judgment, and professionalism. What We Offer Immediate openings with no delay to start date $22.00 per hour Holiday pay at 1.5x and 2.0x rates Paid leave up to 40 hours per year 401(k) retirement savings plan Flexible monthly scheduling within a consistent shift structure Available Shifts We are hiring specifically for the following two shift blocks. Please apply only if you are available for one of these: 0000 to 0600 hours, all days of the week 1800 to 0000 hours, all days of the week Scheduling is set on a month to month basis. Each month, officers pick their own shifts from these two blocks, so your week to week schedule can shift from one month to the next based on what you and your teammates select. This gives you real input into your schedule, but keep in mind it is not the same as open ended flex scheduling you may have seen elsewhere in the security industry. You will always be working within these two shift windows, the flexibility is in which days and how your shifts fall within them each month. Essential Functions Direct and control traffic when circumstances require Provide first aid to individuals requiring emergency medical assistance Identify and investigate suspicious persons, vehicles, or circumstances Take custody of stolen, lost, or found property and forward it to the appropriate authority Assist the client with crime prevention initiatives and problem response Prepare written reports and other required documentation Complete all required training courses and certification programs Follow all company safety policies and procedures Work cooperatively with teammates and provide professional guidance through example Qualifications Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. SDC does not sponsor employment visas. High school diploma or equivalent required (college degree preferred) Minimum age of 21 at time of hire Possess a valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) at time of hire, or qualify for a statutory exemption under Illinois law No felony convictions in any jurisdiction and no crimes of moral turpitude (sex offender registration is an absolute bar to employment) Pass a pre-employment background investigation and online assessment Complete all required training prior to assignment If you want a security career with structure, training, and a team that operates like law enforcement, we want to hear from you.
