Job Description

Mooseheart Child CitySchool is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Security Team. Our Security Officers play a vital role in protecting our campus community-youth, staff, and visitors-while supporting a safe, structured environment that aligns with our mission.
What You'll Do Shifts:
Full-Time:
Sunday - Thursday, 11:00pm to 7:00am ( All security employees working 3rd shift receive a $2 shift differential if on duty from the hours of 11pm to 7am)
Campus SafetyMonitoring:
Monitor the Mooseheart campus to ensure a safe and secure environment. Conduct residence home and bed checks to confirm proper youth locations. Provide security and traffic control for on-campus events. Assist staff and residents as needed.
Incident Response:
Respond promptly to emergency situations according to departmental procedures. Investigate building alarms, determine the cause, and ensure facilities are secure. Report suspicious persons, vehicles, or incidents on campus.
DocumentationCommunication:
Document all incidents accurately and thoroughly. Report deviations in youth count to the appropriate Family Teacher. Maintain confidentiality and share information only on a need-to-know basis.
EquipmentVehicle Care:
Maintain assigned security vehicles in clean, safe operating condition and report any issues to the Chief of Security.
Other Responsibilities:
Complete and maintain all required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Fire Extinguisher). Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Security or Executive Director of Operations.
What You Bring EducationExperience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 21 years of age.
SkillsQualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with residents, staff, and visitors. Keen observational skills and ability to notice unusual or suspicious activity. Ability to act with professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment. Reliable work history and strong teamwork mindset. Valid Illinois driver's license with a clean driving record (no suspensions within the past 3 years). Why Mooseheart?
