SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of designated properties, assets, personnel, and visitors, investigating and reporting irregularities and guard against unlawful behavior.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspects and patrols premises regularly. Monitors surveillance cameras and reports suspicious behavior. Communicates with and at times assists law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel. Monitors public access and security of all personnel and visitors. Responds to alarms and analyzes security footage. Investigates suspicious activity, incidents, and security breaches. Maintains order and cleanliness of uniform, security center, and assigned vehicle. Maintains an activity log, writes incident reports, and prepares surveillance reports (when applicable). Adheres to HVL Bylaws and State of Indiana regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Ability to operate patrol cars and boats.
  • Assists motorists (jumpstart, lockout, directing traffic, etc.
).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and 1+ year (preferred) of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, licenses and registrations required: o Valid driver's license.
Computer skills required:
o Database Software (custom); o Internet Software; o Spreadsheet Software (Excel); o Word Processing Software (Word); o Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Other skills required : o Outstanding surveillance and observation skills. o Excellent communication skills. o Ability to exercise good judgment. o Strong reporting skills. o Working knowledge of public safety, security operations, and procedures. o Knowledge of local and state laws and regulations. o Trained in First Aid and self-defense.
