This is a customer-facing position that combines range check-in, range safety responsibilities, and light retail sales. You do not need previous Range Safety Officer experience. We're looking for a dependable person with strong customer-service skills who is comfortable around firearms and takes safety seriously. We will train the right person and provide paid RSO training and certification.

Hours:

Approximately 8-16 hours per week

Schedule:

Part-time, including evenings and weekends What You'll Do Assist customers at the range check-in counter Provide friendly, helpful customer service Monitor the firing range and help maintain a safe environment Communicate range rules and procedures clearly and professionally Assist with light retail sales and basic product questions Help keep the range, counter, and customer areas clean and organized Support other day-to-day range operations as needed What We're Looking For Must be 21 years of age or older Strong customer-service and communication skills Comfortable working around firearms and regular shooting-range activity Dependable and able to work both independently and as part of a team Willing to learn and consistently follow established safety procedures Available to work evenings and weekends Firearms knowledge is helpful, but extensive experience is not required Previous Range Safety Officer experience or certification is a plus, but not required Benefits Free range access Employee merchandise discounts Paid Range Safety Officer training and certification About The Shooting Academy The Shooting Academy is a professional indoor shooting range, firearms training center, and retail store in Westfield, Indiana. Safety is our top priority, but this position is about more than watching the firing line. Our Range Safety Officers regularly interact with customers at check-in, answer questions, assist with retail sales, and help create a welcoming and professional experience for everyone who visits our facility. We're especially interested in candidates who enjoy working with people, communicate well, and are comfortable learning about firearms and range operations.
