Salary Range:
$15.00- $21.
Qualifications Required:
High school graduate or equivalent. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required within 90 days of employment. BLS certification required within 30 days of employment. Valid Kansas driver's license with an acceptable driving record, insurable through the hospital's insurance carrier. Additional certification may be required for certain settings or populations. Specific information and the timeframe in which such certification must be attained will be provided by the department director/manager/supervisor at time of hire/transfer into department.Preferred:
Previous experience, education, or training in security. International Association for Healthcare Safety & Security (IAHSS) certification. Responsibilities Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the facility to identify and report security concerns, equipment deficiencies, or operational hazards. Log and report maintenance issues and initiate service requests as needed. Monitor all areas to deter theft, property loss, fire risks, and safety hazards. Investigate thefts and other incidents in accordance with departmental procedures. Enforce facility policies regarding smoking, parking, access control, and identification. Oversee the secure check-in and check-out process for patients in custody. Respond to incidents involving disruptive patients, visitors, or suspicious individuals. Maintain accurate documentation and logs of daily activities, incidents, and security issues. Inspect and ensure the readiness of security equipment, including radios, flashlights, communication devices, pepper spray, expandable baton (ASP), and handcuffs. Operate security vehicles safely in various weather conditions and high-traffic areas; responsible for maneuvering, loading/unloading, and obstacle avoidance. Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks including fuel, oil, transmission, brake and windshield fluids, and tire pressure; handle minor issues or notify appropriate personnel. Log vehicle usage and ensure block heaters are plugged in during cold weather; remove snow and ice from vehicles as needed. Respond to emergency codes (e.g., Code Red, Orange, Silver), meet and assist emergency personnel at designated entrances, secure facility access during incidents, and document response actions. Perform other duties as assigned.HIPAA:

This position will include initial and ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Training could include, but is not limited to, blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and biohazardous materials, as it applies to your daily work environment.Patient Interaction:
