Who We Are Ohio Support Services (OSS) is a regionally recognized contract security service firm that provides the highest levels of customized security programs to corporate headquarters, industrial and distribution centers, multi-tenant properties, medical centers, Special Improvement Districts, and educational institutions. Since its founding in 1978 OSS has set the standard for the industry: designing and implementing superior, comprehensive, and cost-effective security programs. What You Will Be Doing The Security Officer/Assistant Supervisor supports the Shift Supervisor in maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment. This role is responsible for performing security duties, providing exceptional customer service, responding to incidents, and ensuring all shift responsibilities are completed in accordance with company policies and site requirements. Security Officer/ Assistant Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Shift Supervisor in ensuring all shift responsibilities and operational requirements are properly completed. Perform security duties across all assigned posts and locations as needed. Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and security-related situations. Conduct transportation duties as assigned. Provide coverage for security posts and access control points, including Gate 1 Inbound and Outbound windows. Deliver excellent customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and guests. Monitor site activities while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and security standards. Prepare accurate reports, logs, and other documentation as required. Utilize computer systems and software applications to enter data, communicate via email, and perform daily administrative functions. Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth shift operations. Maintain professional conduct, vigilance, diligence, and integrity at all times. Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required to meet operational needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Security Officer/ Assistant Supervisor Requirements and Qualifications Professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance. Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and security. Strong customer service skills, including courtesy, patience, professionalism, and effective problem-solving. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Ability to work all assigned security posts and functions within the shift. Proficient computer skills, including: Accurate and efficient data entry. Navigating software applications, internet, and intranet systems. Creating, sending, and responding to emails. Basic troubleshooting, including restarting or rebooting computers and printers. General working knowledge of computer systems. Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated professionalism, vigilance, diligence, dependability, and integrity. Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing operational requirements.
