Beekeeper Security is seeking a qualified K9 Handler to provide and maintain their own qualified k9 and maintain all required K9 handler certifications and documentation. Key responsibilities Provide Security services while working with an assigned person K9 Conduct K9 assisted patrols and security operations at assigned locations Maintain control of the K9 at all times while on duty Perform routine patrols and security checks Identify and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, and security incidents Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident reports Follow all company polices, client requirements, and post orders Maintain Professional communication with clients, employees, visitors, and members of the public Properly care for, transport, and maintain the working condition of the K9 Maintain all required K9 certifications, training record, and veterinary documentation Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid Massachusetts Security Officer License or other applicable security credentials required for the assignment. Must have prior professional K9 handling experience. Must provide your own qualified and certified working K9. Must provide documentation demonstrating current K9 certification and training. Must maintain all required K9 certifications throughout employment. Must have reliable transportation. Must be physically capable of performing patrol and security duties. Must be able to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Must successfully complete the company's hiring and screening process. K9 Requirements Applicants must provide their own working K9. The canine must have current, verifiable certification appropriate for the duties assigned and must be in suitable health and condition for professional security work. Applicants must be prepared to provide applicable documentation, including: K9 certification records Handler certification records Training records Current veterinary/health documentation Vaccination records Proof of ownership or authorized use of the K9 Additional K9 requirements may apply depending on the client assignment. Preferred Qualifications Military or law-enforcement K9 experience Prior private-security K9 experience Patrol K9 experience Experience working at commercial, residential, industrial, educational, or other high-security properties Additional security or K9 certifications Experience writing security reports Compensation Starting pay is $90,000 Salary with compensation potentially varying based on experience, certifications, assignment requirements, and qualifications. Applicants should understand that this position requires the handler to provide and maintain their own qualified K9.
