Job Description
Reporting directly to the Security Manager. Provides leadership and supervision on assigned shift. Responsible for coordinating shift plans, making operational decisions, communicating with Security personnel, and reporting all safety / security incidents. Responsibilities include assuring a safe and secure environment for all patients, staff, and visitors. All shift activities are coordinated to ensure compliance with all hospital policies, monitors appropriate security officer response, documentation, adequate staffing levels. Ensure that fire extinguishers are checked monthly by Security Officers. Minimum Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience Experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service industry preferred. Experience in a healthcare security environment strongly preferred. Licensure and/or Certification AVADE Certified in Workplace Violence Prevention Levels I, II, and III or obtain within 60 days of employment. Skills Must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Must demonstrate ability to write and educate officers how to write Security Reports. Computer skills required. Ability to maintain confidential information.
