Job Description
Established in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a multi-site mission-driven non-profit organization employing over 700 staff whose primary focus is providing the highest quality patient care to residents throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites throughout the service area and is the sponsoring organization for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency Program. GLFHC is currently seeking a Lobby Attendant - Console Operator . Under the direction of the Security Manager, the Lobby Attendant - Console Operator supports the safety and security of GLFHC patients, staff, visitors, and facilities through vigilant monitoring of security cameras, alarm systems, and telephone communications from the Security Command Center. This position responds to alarms and incidents, conducts virtual and physical security tours, completes required reports and logs, and provides general lobby and security support as needed. Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other security technologies to help maintain a safe and secure environment. Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, security concerns, and other incidents. Escalate complex or emergency situations to management and/or law enforcement when necessary. Utilize a motor vehicle, as required, to respond to alarms or incidents at GLFHC clinic locations. Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally and assist with appropriate communication, direction, and notifications. Conduct virtual and physical security tours as assigned. Complete and maintain incident reports, activity logs, tracking logs, and other required documentation. Maintain the Security Command Center in a clean, organized, and professional condition. Notify management of housekeeping, supply, equipment, or operational concerns as needed. Provide general Lobby Attendant support, including guest assistance, lobby coverage, security rounds, and lobby maintenance. Respond to non-business-hour alarms and other incidents as required. Maintain professionalism, sound judgment, and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills, professionalism, and integrity required. Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize unusual activity or potential safety concerns. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated reliability, dependability, and ability to make appropriate decisions under pressure. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with proactive problem-solving skills. Ability and willingness to learn security systems, procedures, and technology. Familiarity and comfort working with technology preferred. Valid Massachusetts Driver's License and access to reliable transportation required. Bilingual/bicultural Spanish-English skills strongly preferred, but not required. Two years of experience in healthcare, community services, security, facilities support, or a related field preferred, but not required . High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in a related field required. Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop throughout the workday. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 20 pounds. Position may involve periodic eyestrain and light ear strain associated with monitoring security equipment and communications systems.
