A Security Officer provides security for property at hospitals, hotels, warehouses or office buildings. Monitors entrances and patrols buildings, watches for intruders or vandals; reports building maintenance problems; deals with customers or visitors that create a disturbance in the building.
REDI is an Adult Use Cannabis Dispensary that operates a retail location in the City of Natick, Massachusetts. REDI operates in a highly regulated environment and must be oriented toward regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Protect company's property, staff, and visitors by maintaining a highly visible presence on the facility/grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment. Monitor the ingress and egress of employees, visitors, vendors and customers with the ability to detect suspicious or unsafe activity, investigate disturbances, diffuse situations and evict violators. Situational awareness and ability to react quickly and professionally to split-second issues that might arise. Maintaining and utilizing daily logs and badge systems for visitors and employees. Patrol the facility and perimeter regularly and as required. Report in detail any suspicious or unusual occurrences to the Safety and Management Teams or local authorities promptly. Know the facility, company policies, and procedures of the Safety position and enforce them. Follow established emergency action planning and procedures. Ability to diffuse situations that may arise and the ability to manage large crowds effectively and calmly. Manage breaks and lunches based on the needs of the Safety team. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. Multitasking experience is strongly required. Proficient in Microsoft Office - specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook Email. Must stay current and adhere to all policies and regulations of the state cannabis agencies. Must meet age requirements as outlined by state cannabis agencies. (21) Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies. Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies. Able to accommodate scheduling that may include varied shifts, weekends, and holidays. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
Education:
High school diploma/GED preferred. 1-3 years' experience working in a cannabis retail setting preferred Security - 1 year preferred Familiar with operating and monitoring of security cameras and access systems.
Working conditions:
Work is primarily performed in a dispensary setting. Involves frequent contact with staff, vendors and customers. Work may include dealing with law enforcement and occasional State inspectors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to walk and stand for long period of time Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions. Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. Lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 30 pounds Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays; May be requested to work additional time, as business demands require
