This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, engaging with the community, and helping maintain a safe environment for students, families, and staff. Position Overview Security Officers assigned to this detail will assist with traffic direction, pedestrian awareness, and overall parking lot safety during peak school hours. Officers will help guide vehicles, maintain order, and ensure a smooth flow of traffic during morning ingress and afternoon egress . Responsibilities Direct the flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic during school arrival and dismissal Maintain a visible, professional presence in the parking lot Assist drivers with safe movement through designated lanes and drop‑off/pick‑up areas Monitor for unsafe behavior and report concerns promptly Communicate courteously with parents, staff, and visitors Follow all MDPS and school‑site procedures Maintain awareness of surroundings and prioritize student safety at all times Ideal Candidates This role is an excellent match for individuals with experience in: Crossing guard duties School safety or campus supervision Traffic control Customer‑facing roles requiring calm communication Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and managing fast‑moving environments during peak times.
