Unarmed Security Officer - Shelter Environment Blackwell Protection Agency, LLC is actively recruiting professional and dependable Unarmed Security Officers for an anticipated security contract supporting emergency shelter facilities in Montgomery County, Maryland. This position requires officers who can maintain safety while treating residents, staff, visitors, and members of the public with dignity and respect. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, professionalism, patience, and the ability to de-escalate situations in a trauma-informed human-services environment.

Hiring:

Multiple positions available Responsibilities Maintain a professional, visible unarmed security presence. Monitor entrances, exits, visitors, and facility access. Conduct hand-wand and bag screening when required. Perform interior and exterior security patrols. Electronically document required patrol rounds. Observe and report suspicious or unsafe activity. Use verbal de-escalation and conflict-resolution techniques when appropriate. Respond professionally to security incidents and emergencies. Complete accurate daily activity and incident reports. Immediately report significant incidents to management and designated facility personnel. Contact police, fire, or EMS when necessary. Work respectfully with individuals who may be experiencing homelessness, housing instability, behavioral-health challenges, or crisis. Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries. Qualifications Must meet applicable Maryland security guard licensing requirements. Must successfully complete required background screening. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations. Ability to write clear, factual incident reports. Comfortable using a smartphone/mobile application for electronic patrol reporting. Willing to complete required job-specific training. CPR/First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, trauma-informed care, de-escalation training, and previous security or human-services experience are preferred.
