As a Security Officer, you will play an important role in protecting people, property, facilities, and critical operations. You will work as part of a professional security team while providing a visible security presence and maintaining a safe and secure environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, observant, professional, and able to remain calm and make sound decisions in a variety of situations. What You'll Do Responsibilities may include: Maintain a professional security presence throughout the assigned facility. Monitor and control access to the property. Conduct interior and exterior patrols. Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and other assigned areas. Check and document visitors, vendors, contractors, and vehicles as required. Issue visitor badges and maintain accurate access and visitor logs. Monitor security systems and respond to alarms and other incidents. Identify and report suspicious, unauthorized, or unsafe activity. Enforce site-specific security procedures and post orders. Respond appropriately to emergencies and participate in emergency action procedures. Observe and report conditions that could create safety or security hazards. Prepare accurate, complete, and timely security reports. Communicate with supervisors, client representatives, emergency personnel, and other appropriate parties as required. Perform other security-related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For We're looking for candidates who are: Professional and customer-service oriented. Reliable and dependable. Minimum Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older . High School Diploma or GED preferred/required based on assignment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location. Must be able to successfully complete all required background and pre-employment screening applicable to the position. Must meet all applicable Maine security guard requirements. Basic computer skills preferred. Physical Requirements Security Officers must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position. Depending on the assignment, duties may require: Standing and walking for extended periods. Conducting interior and exterior patrols. Climbing stairs. Responding quickly to emergency situations. Lifting or carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Performing other physical activities reasonably associated with the assignment.
