School Safety Specialist
IN THIS ROLE
Join a passionate team at Avondale High School where innovation, collaboration, and student-centered learning thrive. As a School Safety Specialist, you'll m onitor/supervise student activity in building including but not limited to athletic locker rooms, hallways, entry points, restrooms, cafeteria, media center, and parking lot. With robust professional development, a supportive community, and the freedom to bring lessons to life in meaningful ways, this is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on students and shape their journey toward success.
WHAT WE NEED
1. High School Diploma. 2. Associates degree preferred 3. Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect. 4. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. 5. Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
WHAT YOU NEED
1. Works cooperatively with administrators, student services personnel and teachers. 2. P ossess current certification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) or enroll to gain certification provided by the Avondale School District 3. Knowledge of research based trauma informed practices. 4. Greet guests/visitors in a positive manner; assist them with conducting school business 5. Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job 6. Monitor the building to be certain all students have a pass if out of the classroom during instructional time. 7. Monitor student behavior throughout the building 8. Maintain closed campus policy 8. Other duties as assigned by the principal. Opportunities may be available to serve in this capacity for after school events.
