  • Armed Protection Specialists are responsible for the protection of people and premises.
They use their extensive knowledge of security best practices and their ability to assess and respond to threats to keep clients safe. Duties & Responsibilities Can Include Roam assigned areas to prevent crime and unauthorized entry. Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems. Utilize weapon detection systems and tools. Respond to emergency situations. Conduct security checks of buildings and grounds. Interview people entering and leaving the premises. Enforce client security policies and procedures. Report suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities. Provide protective escort. Identify and address security vulnerabilities and gaps. Qualifications General qualifications sought for a Protection Specialist position include: Associate degree or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred. Valid driver's license. Prior experience in law enforcement, military related skill, or security. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Strong physical and mental fitness. Must be licensed to carry a firearm in the state where the position is located. Must complete a training program in security procedures and the use of force. Must maintain current certifications in first aid, CPR and AED. Must pass psychological and medical screenings upon request. Ability to deliver superior customer service and courtesy to all of our clients. Armed Protection Specialists are held to an extremely high standard of conduct. They must consistently display a high level of professionalism, courtesy, diligence, and care of duty at all times. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team. Working Conditions The work environment is typically indoors and outdoors. May be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The officer may be exposed to hazardous conditions, such as violence, weapons, and dangerous chemicals. Physical Requirements The officer must be able to: Stand for long periods of time. Walk long distances. Lift and carry heavy objects. Safely operate a motor vehicle with precision. Use firearms and other weapons. Think clearly and make quick decisions in stressful situations. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
