Telecommunicator Ridgeview Medical Center United States, Minnesota, Waconia Sep 03, 2026 Purpose of Job This position is responsible for comprehending and coordinating communications and data between emergency and/or public safety units via a variety of telecommunication methods. Job Functions Gathers information and dispatches appropriate resources to emergency/non-emergency requests. Provides effective coverage of geographic area by strategic deployment of vehicles and appropriate mutual aid coverage. Maintains status of vehicle/equipment breakdowns, services and reporting mechanisms. Demonstrates knowledge of all phone lines and appropriately gathers and disseminates information on a timely basis. Provides appropriate medical instruction to callers. Demonstrates working knowledge of monitoring devices and takes appropriate action when needed. Provides clerical support for the department billing procedures. Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education/Work Experience High school graduate or equivalent

Must have home telephone/cell phone Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above CRT experience Ability to perform in a high stress area Ability to relate confidence with patients, physicians and staff and project a positive first impression Ability to assimilate information for thorough and concise record taking under difficult and stressful situations Ability to type accurately Ability to multi-task and prioritize without specific guidelines Demonstrated map reading skills Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above License/Certifications EMD Certification (or obtain within 6 months of hire) Preferred Qualifications Emergency dispatch experience Medic First Aid training or equivalent Link to Employee Health Physical Demands Compensation Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity.
