Access Control Control access to the building through established security procedures. Issue temporary employee badges to personnel who have forgotten or misplaced their assigned access badge. Maintain records of temporary badge issuance and ensure badges are returned at the end of the shift or workday. Report any access control issues or suspicious activity to management. Security Monitoring Conduct hourly inspections of laboratory areas to verify the status of critical systems and equipment. Monitor security systems and respond promptly to alarms in accordance with established procedures. Document inspections, alarms, and any irregularities identified during rounds. Surveillance & Property Security Continuously monitor exterior surveillance camera systems covering company grounds. Observe and report any suspicious activity, unauthorized individuals, or potential security threats. Immediately notify law enforcement and designated company personnel of trespassers or criminal activity. Do not approach, confront, or make contact with trespassers. Maintain observation from a safe location while providing responding authorities with updates. 1Documentation & Communication Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and security documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate security concerns, maintenance issues, and unusual events to supervisors. Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations and security procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous security, receptionist, customer service, or access control experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies. Basic computer proficiency and ability to operate security monitoring systems. Strong attention to detail and observational skills. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to walk scheduled hourly rounds throughout the facility. Ability to monitor multiple surveillance screens simultaneously. Ability to respond promptly to alarms and security incidents. Work Environment This position is performed in an office, reception, and laboratory environment. The employee will routinely monitor surveillance equipment, conduct facility patrols, interact with employees and visitors, and follow all company safety and security procedures.

Pay:

$15.00 - $17.50 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 per week
