Safety Officer, Part Time Leave Replacement

POSITION SUMMARY

Campus Security Safety Officers shall monitor all persons entering and leaving school property, maintain control and provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and all District constituencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Request identification and direct all persons entering the building

Patrol the building and property as assigned

Supervise students, parents and visitors in the building to prevent loitering, theft, and vandalism.

Monitor parking areas to protect against theft and vandalism as well as assist in traffic control as assigned. Maintain personal and radio communications to report violations and receive instructions.

Assist with crowd control especially during dismissal, fire drills, emergencies, evacuations and special events. Maintain a cooperative working relationship with all District constituencies. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to complete all physical duties as assigned at 100% capacity.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to perform the essential functions of their position at 100% capacity, without any permanent physical limitations that would limit his/her ability

Be a licensed driver and/ or have transportation to and from worksite High school diploma

Ability to maintain a positive work environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills Compliance with the

NJ FIRST

Act

Successful Criminal History Clearance

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & COMPENSATION

For the 26/27 SY, compensation for this role is $22.77 / hourly, salary prorated based on start, up to 29 hours weekly. Starting as soon as possible, end date to be determined. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
