Security Officer serves as an important part of the healthcare team by helping maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role combines vigilance, professionalism, and compassionate customer service to protect people, property, and the operations of the health system. The Security Officer is responsible for patrolling facilities, monitoring for potential security concerns, managing access control, conducting weapon screenings, responding to emergencies, and supporting crisis de-escalation efforts. Strong communication, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to interact respectfully with a diverse population are critical to success in this position. Applicants with an out-of-state driver's license must transfer their license and vehicle registration to New Jersey within 60 days of hire. You must also be able to obtain certification in de-escalation training within 90 days of hire. At least one year of customer service or security experience, or prior military service, is preferred. Experience with keyboarding, data entry, Microsoft Office, and strong verbal and written communication skills is preferred. Bilingual language skills are a plus, depending on facility needs.
