A Security Officer provides security for property at hospitals, hotels, warehouses or office buildings. Monitors entrances and patrols buildings, watches for intruders or vandals; reports building maintenance problems; deals with customers or visitors that create a disturbance in the building.

Overnight Shift Differential Pay Position Overview:
The Peddie School is seeking a flexible and reliable Part-Time Security Team Member to join our campus safety team. This position reports directly to the Security Supervisor and the Director of Security. Because campus safety is a 24/7 priority, this role requires open availability to cover a dynamic combination of weekday, weekend, evening, and holiday shifts.

7:30 AM•3:30
PM Evening:
3:30 PM•11:30
PM Midnight/Overnight:
11:30 PM•7:30 AM (Includes differential pay)
Flexibility:
Expected workload is 8 to 24 hours per week. Weekend, evening, midnight, and holiday coverage is required. Responsibilities Patrol campus and off-campus residences on foot or in a vehicle. Enforce all school rules and regulations pertaining to the safety and welfare of students and staff. Routinely check for unlocked doors, blocked entrances/exits, hazards, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons. Prepare clear daily logs and incident reports. Respond immediately to emergency calls (fire, police, medical). Notify campus administration, police, and appropriate emergency personnel of dangerous or unusual situations. Assist with the supervision of lunch and dinner periods, as well as traffic duty during morning drop-offs. Maintain a thorough awareness of building emergency procedures and successfully conduct evacuations when necessary.
Requirements & Qualifications Availability:
Proven ability and willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends, evenings, overnights, and holidays.
Experience:
Prior security experience is desirable but not required.
Credentials:
Valid Driver's license is required.
Skills:
Must have knowledge of First Aid/CPR/AED.
Physical Demands:
Ability to climb stairs or ladders, stand for long periods, and work outdoors in inclement weather (snow, sleet, and rain).
