Job Description As a Security Officer Transitional Shelter in Long Island City, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transitional Shelters. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a Transitional Shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support residents, visitors, and staff with exceptional customer service. You will commnicate clearly, respond to routine concerns, and contribute to a welcoming environment while reflecting Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, caring, team-oriented, and integrity-driven values.

AM What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures. Conduct regular and random patrols of residential buildings, common areas, entry points, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity. Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required by site procedures, and report unusual conditions or maintenance concerns. Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately in required logs and reports.

Minimum Requirements:

Be at least 21 years of age. A guard card or license is preferred. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
