Job Description

Security Officer - Casino We are seeking a professional and attentive Security Officer to join our casino security team. In this role, you will help protect our guests, employees, and property while providing a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for everyone. The ideal candidate has strong observation and communication skills, remains calm under pressure, and understands the importance of exceptional guest service in a fast-paced casino environment. What You'll Do Provide professional, courteous service to guests, employees, and visitors throughout the property. Patrol and monitor the property to help ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and company assets. Observe and identify potential safety hazards, suspicious activity, security concerns, and gaming-related schemes or cheating. Respond to security incidents and emergencies and coordinate with appropriate personnel and outside emergency agencies when necessary. Prepare accurate and timely written reports documenting security-related incidents. Escort and observe guests and employees when needed to ensure their safety. Serve as a dispatcher during emergency situations and coordinate the appropriate response. Assist with the safe transportation of company funds. Assist with opening and closing the gaming floor. Maintain familiarity with casino facilities, special events, emergency procedures, and applicable policies and regulations. Maintain and properly control keys used to access secured areas. Verify identification from individuals who appear to be under the legal age in accordance with New York State gaming regulations. Operate company vehicles as directed. Attend departmental meetings and communicate important information to team members. May be assigned as Officer-in-Charge and perform shift supervisory responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Valid New York State Security Guard License. Excellent observation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to identify suspicious activity, security concerns, and potential gaming schemes or cheating. Ability to read and understand safety rules, policies, procedures, and operating instructions. Ability to write clear and accurate incident reports. Sound judgment and the ability to apply common sense in a variety of situations. Ability to work professionally and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous casino or gaming industry experience. Previous experience responding to emergencies or serving in a security leadership role. Physical & Work Requirements This position requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and use hands to operate equipment and controls. Employees may occasionally need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The position requires regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds . Employees may work both indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to varying weather conditions. Noise levels are generally moderate but may become loud on the gaming floor.
