This position is located in our Cleveland, Ohio office.Job Overview:
Responsible for performing alarm and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, vandalism, fire, flood, or similar disaster.Responsibilities:
Essential Job Duties:
Ensure the physical security of buildings and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks, and emergency equipment. Maintain a log of findings and corrective action taken. Assist in reception functions and maintain the visitor control area. Act as switchboard operator as required. Monitor and direct urinalyses and Breathalyzer as required. Assist in the coordination of transporting ill or injured students as required. Respond to fire alarms, take necessary steps to report fires, assist in suppressing fires, and reset fire alarm equipment. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices and OSHA standards. Ensure proper student/visitor checkout and procedures are followed. Cultivate and maintain a climate at the Center, which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn. Promote student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition, and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed. Perform other related duties as assigned.Key Responsibilities:
Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives. Timely and cost-effective performance of duties. Communicating effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of Center staff and students. Ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with all departments. Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work. Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. Adherence to established company safety policies and ability to work in a safe manner, using any required personal protective equipment (PPE) as may be required. Compliance with company standard operating procedures and personnel policies and procedures.Job Requirements:
Mandatory:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One (1) year of experience with an organized security department, law enforcement agency, or experience with security duties. Successfully pass a background check and drug test required on the contract. Valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record. Must be 18 years of age or older Basic reading and math proficiency Able to work rotating shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays (if applicable) Physical ability to patrol, stand for long periods, respond to incidents, and conduct security checks Authorized to work in theUnited States Preferred:
Previous experience in law enforcement. Training with an organized security department.Working Conditions:
This is a full-time non-exempt position that may require working nights and weekends. The successful candidate must also have the ability to work in various temperatures and a position requiring standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time.Physical Requirements:
While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and/or walk for long periods at a time, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, or smell.
