Over the past few years, weve tripled in size, now employing over 2,300 team members and more than 200 physicians and advanced practitioners. Were currently seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our Safety & Security Department at our hospital locations.
Position OverviewPrimary responsibilities include protecting people, property, information, and reputation of Avita Health System as well as enforcing the rules and regulations set forth by the organization. Professionalism is crucial for this very visible hospital employee. Greet patients/visitors when they enter the facility, offer assistance and/or escort to designation as needed. Patrolling the facility is required not only as a visible deterrent, but for providing a feeling of safety for staff, patients, and visitors. Security Officers will respond immediately to emergency codes within the hospital but do not provide treatment to patients. Security Officers also assist staff in verbally de-escalating or restraining unmanageable or unruly patients or visitors as needed.
Must be able to successfully complete an Essential Function Test (EFT) prior to employment.
Previous background experience in Hospital Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Military or other Public Service entities.
Hazardous Material Awareness & Operations Level training.

QualificationsRequired:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Must be able to successfully complete an Essential Function Test (EFT) prior to employment.
Previous background experience in Hospital Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Military or other Public Service entities.
Preferred:
Associates Degree in Public Service or current enrollment in a Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement program with continued progress towards completion.Hazardous Material Awareness & Operations Level training.
