  • 7 AM) Toledo Zoo & Aquarium The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years.

Our Security department is currently seeking a Part Time Security Officer who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience. In order to reach our goals at The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium, we need great people who believe in and will strive to achieve our goals and objectives. We are currently seeking a midnight shift security officer. The Toledo Zoo's security team plays a critical role in safeguarding the property, guests, staff, animals and zoo assets. This role includes monitoring vital systems, responding to service calls, conducting patrols, and assisting with special events. From monitoring air and water temperatures at exhibits to overseeing surveillance systems and fire suppression alarms. Officers will conduct foot, mobile, and bike patrols to assist guests and staff. Additional duties include securing the zoo through lock-ups, cash escorts and medical runs while maintaining accurate security records. This position reports to the Director of Security with general oversight by the Security Supervisor. This position is non-exempt part-time position under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Toledo Zoo is looking for applicants who are:
Enthusiastic Engaging Motivated Proactive Committed Customer Service Driven Minimum Training & Qualifications:
Must be able to work independently and in a team setting. Must possess strong communication and exceptional customer service skills. Bike patrol, mobile patrol, and dispatch opportunities. Candidates with criminal justice, fire science, and military background are preferred. Available to work weekends, holidays, and special events. Candidates must be physically able to walk for extended periods. Must have a valid drivers' license and insurable by the fleet insurance carrier. Must be at least 18 years of age.
