15.30 Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and professional Security Officer to monitor and control access at our truck gate. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service while enforcing site security procedures, verifying drivers and vehicles, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records. Key Responsibilities Monitor truck entrance and exit points. Verify driver identification, delivery appointments, bills of lading, shipping documents, and access authorizations. Inspect and record truck, trailer, seal, and cargo information as required. Operate access-control systems, gates, radios, computers, and visitor-management systems. Direct truck traffic and maintain a safe, orderly flow of vehicles. Issue visitor or driver passes and ensure all credentials are returned when required. Maintain accurate logs of arrivals, departures, incidents, and security activities. Communicate with transportation, warehouse, management, and emergency personnel. Enforce facility policies and report unauthorized access, suspicious activity, safety hazards, or damaged property. Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established emergency procedures. Complete written reports and shift handoffs. Perform other security-related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous security, logistics, transportation, warehouse, or gatehouse experience preferred. Ability to read and verify shipping and identification documents. Basic computer and communication skills. Strong observation, customer-service, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in changing weather conditions. Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in a busy environment. Must be able to pass any required background check, drug screening, or site-specific training. Preferred Qualifications Experience working at a distribution center, warehouse, trucking terminal, or manufacturing facility. Familiarity with access-control, camera-monitoring, or visitor-management systems. Bilingual skills are a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Ability to communicate clearly by radio and telephone.
