The Security Guard is responsible for performing semi-routine security tasks to ensure the safety and security of company personnel, property, and facilities. This role requires solid working knowledge of security protocols and procedures, with the ability to handle moderately complex issues and escalate concerns when necessary. The Security Guard II works under general supervision and may provide tactical guidance to peers or subordinate groups.Key Responsibilities:
- Enhanced Security Services oGuard against fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry, applying established security protocols.
- Incident Management oIdentify and report irregularities, such as fire hazards, unlocked security doors, or other potentially dangerous conditions. oHandle moderately complex security issues and escalate concerns to higher levels when necessary. oProvide tactical guidance to peers or subordinate groups in addressing security concerns.
- Emergency Response oRespond effectively to emergencies, including fire, medical, or security incidents, to maintain order and ensure the safety of personnel and visitors. oCoordinate with first responders and follow established emergency protocols.
- Additional Responsibilities oAssist in training and mentoring entry-level security staff.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of basic security training.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial or commercial property security.
- Valid driver's license and reliable motorized transportation.
- Proficiency in operating shortwave radios and basic firefighting equipment.
- Ability to lift and transport objects weighing at least 30 pounds regularly.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a DoD or government contractor environment.
- Advanced security or emergency response certifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills for handling moderately complex security issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with employees, visitors, and law enforcement personnel.
Work Environment/Conditions:
- Regularly engage in activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force during routine tasks.
- Clear vision at close and long distances to monitor security systems and conduct inspections.
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills to address security concerns effectively.
- Basic proficiency in math, language, writing, and reading.
- Moderate noise levels typical of office equipment (e.g., computers, printers).
