Job Summary Join our dedicated team as an Unarmed School Security Officer, where your vigilance and commitment will help create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. In this vital role, you will perform comprehensive security duties to prevent incidents, manage access control, and respond effectively to emergencies. Your proactive approach and strong communication skills will ensure the safety of everyone on campus while maintaining a positive school atmosphere. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community through dedicated security service. Duties Monitor school premises through CCTV surveillance systems to detect suspicious activity and ensure safety protocols are followed. Conduct regular patrols of school grounds, hallways, entrances, and exits to maintain physical security and deter unauthorized access. Manage access control by verifying identities of visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel; issue visitor badges as needed. Respond promptly to emergency situations by following established procedures for fire alarms, medical incidents, or security breaches. Write detailed incident reports documenting any security concerns or events; communicate effectively with law enforcement or emergency responders when required. Perform background checks on new staff or visitors as part of compliance with security regulations. Assist in conflict de-escalation efforts and manage student or visitor disputes with professionalism and tact. Operate security equipment such as Taser devices (if certified), AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and access control systems to enhance campus safety. Qualifications Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable. Knowledge of surveillance techniques including CCTV operation and manual handling procedures. Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation, and emergency response procedures is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for safety equipment or emergency situations. Strong understanding of conflict management strategies and conflict de-escalation techniques. Familiarity with security regulations, compliance standards, and performing background checks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, visitors, and emergency personnel. Physical fitness to stand, walk extensively during patrols, and respond swiftly in high-pressure situations. Join us in creating a safe learning environment where students can thrive! Pay:
