Job Description Cybersecurity Operations Lead Location:

Alexandria, VA Work Type:

Hybrid, 2-3 days per week on-site in Alexandria, VA. The first 30 days of work will be full-time on-site in Alexandria, VA. We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Cybersecurity Operations Lead to join our team in Alexandria, VA. This role is critical to our organization's security posture and will involve leading and managing our cybersecurity operations center (SOC).

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the SOC, ensuring 24/7 monitoring and response to security incidents. Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect our organization's information assets. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security tools and technologies, including SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of our operations. Provide technical expertise and guidance to security analysts and other IT staff. Stay current on the latest security threats, trends, and best practices. Develop and deliver security training and awareness programs for employees.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification preferred. Strong understanding of security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS). Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight). Knowledge of network security, firewall configuration, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make decisions under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of application security and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC). Experience with incident response and forensics. Why Join Us?
