Duties Checking ID's and using the scanner Conduct regular patrols of the facility, including building interiors, exteriors, and restricted areas to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access Control access points using advanced access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations for employees, visitors, and contractors Respond swiftly to emergencies by executing established procedures such as fire drills, medical incidents, or security breaches Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other noteworthy events with clarity and accuracy Perform background checks on new hires or visitors as part of the screening process to uphold safety standards Assist law enforcement agencies during investigations or incidents while maintaining compliance with security regulations Requirements Proven experience as a Security Officer or in a similar role with a strong background in physical security operations Knowledge of surveillance equipment including CCTV systems and access control technology Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and emergency response procedures is required Ability to handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting and manual handling safely when required for patrols or incident management Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and performing background checks is highly desirable Skilled in conflict de-escalation techniques and conflict management to handle challenging situations professionally Strong communication skills for incident report writing and customer service interactions Ability to perform patrolling duties effectively while maintaining high alertness over extended periods Valid license to carry firearms or Tasers may be preferred depending on jurisdiction and role specifications Commitment to compliance with all security regulations and safety standards
