Position Category Staff Full Time Job Description The Security Officer (Armed) will conduct the day-to-day activities to ensure a secure campus Required Qualifications •High school diploma; valid drivers license; must pass a psychological evaluation according to state requirements; must successfully pass a background check; must be 21 years old or older to be an armed guard Preferred Qualifications law enforcement and/or security training Physical Demands Campus Harrogate Job Duty Job Duty Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large Job Duty must be able to fire a weapon accurately Job Duty must be able to defend himself/herself and others with and without the use of deadly force Job Duty promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students; Job Duty participate on University committees in the absences of the chief; maintain knowledge and compliance with faculty/staff policy manual, Security SOP, student handbook, and other policy manuals Job Duty conduct regular security rounds of all property Job Duty maintain security of all keys and key access Job Duty sufficiently complete new employee training Job Duty research, report crime and incidents Job Duty responsible for submitting in the RMS system the tracking, and reporting of crimes and incident statistics Job Duty address policy violations when observed Job Duty report all maintenance and grounds issues through daily activity reporting; Job Duty conduct traffic safety, issue traffic and parking citations Job Duty must have ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations and to determine proper course of action Job Duty maintain Emergency Response certification Job Duty complete daily activity reports, incidents reports, consult and understand pass-on book information since the individual s last shift; Job Duty maintain officer code of conduct in accordance with Faculty/Staff Policy Manual expectations; Job Duty completion of required institutional and program accreditation reports and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of the University programs, both on campus and at the extended sites; Job Duty maintain and display a high degree of professionalism in appearance and in the performance of all regular duties Job Duty must exert themselves physically for short periods of time, such as running and lifting; Job Duty maintain yearly Security recertification through the State; Posting Detail Information Posting Number S05116P Job Open Date 04/01/2026 Job Close Date 08/01/2026 Open Until Filled No Special Instructions Summary Move Tyler Price from SO4965P to this application About the Institution Lincoln Memorial University is a values-based learning community dedicated to providing educational experiences in the liberal arts and professional studies.
