Temporary employment with the University of Memphis is limited to a period of no more than one year at a time. Temporary appointments are intended to address short-term or limited-duration staffing needs and do not guarantee continued employment or placement in a permanent position. Each temporary appointment must be reviewed and, when appropriate, renewed annually based on departmental need, funding, performance, and applicable University requirements. Renewal is not automatic, and continued employment should not be assumed beyond the approved appointment period. Temporary employees who wish to remain under consideration for employment opportunities should maintain an active and current application/profile within the University's applicant system. Temporary employment does not guarantee selection for future temporary or permanent positions, and individuals must meet the qualifications and requirements of any position for which they are considered.
