Murfreesboro, TN Job Details Part-time | Full-time $14 - $15 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Teamwork Military High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Security Full Job Description Range Safety Officer Position Summary The Range Safety Officer (RSO) is responsible for maintaining a safe, controlled, and professional environment for all range users. The RSO supervises range activities, enforces safety rules and operating procedures, responds to emergencies, and ensures the safe handling of firearms at all times. Key Responsibilities Monitor all Range users and activities to ensure compliance with established safety rules and procedures. Conduct safety briefings and explain range rules to customers, members, and visitors. Maintain constant awareness of firearms handling and immediately address unsafe behavior. Inspect firing lanes, equipment, and range areas for potential safety hazards. Respond quickly and appropriately to accidents, injuries, malfunctions, and other emergencies. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe range environment. Enforce facility policies consistently, professionally, and respectfully. Assist with opening and closing range procedures, including safety inspections. Report safety incidents, equipment problems, and policy violations to management. Assist customers with general range procedures and safety questions. Follow all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies. Participate in required safety, emergency-response, and range-specific training. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to pass a back ground check Ability to obtain a TN Enhanced Carry Permit. Previous experience in a firearms range, military, law enforcement, security, or safety-related position is preferred. Strong understanding of firearms safety and safe range practices. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Ability to enforce safety rules firmly and professionally. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to work in a loud environment and use appropriate hearing and eye protection. Must successfully complete all required company training and safety qualifications. Preferred Skills CPR/First Aid training. Prior Range Safety Officer a plus. Experience working with the public. Knowledge of emergency procedures and incident reporting. Strong attention to detail and situational awareness. Work Environment This position works primarily on an active firearms range and may involve exposure to loud noises, firearms discharge, lead-containing materials, and varying environmental conditions. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including appropriate eye and hearing protection, must be worn as required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to communicate clearly in a loud environment. Ability to respond quickly to safety incidents and emergencies. Ability to perform routine range inspections and related duties. Ability to lift and move equipment as required by the position.
