We have an exciting opportunity for you to join HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress which is part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare. Job Summary and Qualifications Reports to the Chief of Public Safety to ensure that all policies and procedures pertaining to the Security and Safety of the Hospital and its patients, visitors, and employees are followed. To assist in creating an efficient and effective program for the best interest of patients, visitors, employees, and hospital property. What you will do in this role: Greets guest with a smile and friendly hello Takes an active interest and asks "How may I help you?" Offers to give guests directions and answer their questions Helps co-workers create best possible visit for guests. Considers the thoughts, feelings, and privacy of others Serves as liaison between departments fostering team work Conveys a friendly and helpful affect when communicating by telephone Responsible for the physical security of the building. Deal with internal thefts. Coordinate any emergency situation during his/her shift. Controls loud or disorderly patients/visitors and summons police to assist, if necessary. Investigate crimes or problems within the Hospital and conduct any follow-up investigations required. Protects the crime scene until police take over on all serious criminal cases. Reports any unsafe conditions to the Director of Public Safety to facilitate quick corrective action. Monitor video cameras in the Security Office. Monitor and respond to emergency alarms and codes occurring on hospital property or as assigned. Escort visitors/employees to parking lots when requested. Provide documentation of all activities during the shift and write special incident reports as assigned. Be well trained in all aspects of emergency situations that the hospital may encounter. Attend all fire drills and alarms according to established fire procedures. Maintain a secure and reliable key control system. Maintain and secure access control of the emergency room after hours. Maintain professional image to all hospital customers. Maintain storage and documentation of lost and found items including stolen property. Maintain safe and secure environment in the hospital parking lots. Any other duties which may be assigned by the Director of Public Safety or Shift Supervisor.
