Job Description
Description Security Guard At Pilgrim's, Safety Is A Condition , which means the safety of our team members comes first - always. The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, company assets, and operations. This position monitors plant activity, controls facility access, conducts routine security inspections, supports shipping and receiving functions, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. The Security Guard must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Monitor plant activity and maintain security throughout the facility. Conduct hourly security rounds, including verifying: Trailer temperatures Room temperatures Gate security and access points Monitor and document all associates, visitors, and vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility. Operate weight master scales and accurately weigh trailers entering and leaving the plant. Answer and direct incoming switchboard calls after business hours. Bill outgoing loads and maintain required shipping documentation. Follow, enforce, and help implement company policies, procedures, and security protocols. Operate company-owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Inspect trailers to verify cleanliness, condition, and operability before use. Receive and document shipments of supplies and raw materials. Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports related to security and plant activity. Report unusual activities, safety concerns, security incidents, or policy violations to management. Assist with other duties and projects as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Professional attitude and appearance. Effective communication skills, including the ability to remain calm and communicate under stressful situations. Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Ability to walk more than one mile on varying terrain, in all weather conditions, and frequently navigate stairs. Preferred Qualifications Security experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment. Strong computer skills and working knowledge of basic software applications. Experience with scale operations, shipping documentation, or facility access control systems. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to walk more than one mile during routine patrols. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to climb stairs and navigate uneven terrain. Ability to observe surroundings and respond promptly to security-related matters. Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials as required. Work Environment Manufacturing and processing facility environment. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and weather conditions. Frequent interaction with employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors. May require working evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
