Yes Qualifications:
Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate, supplemented by specialized safety or security environment training. Some experience in security, safety, or protective services settings. Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience. Must successfully complete compulsory certification training approved by the Virginia Center for School Safety within sixty (60) days of hire and renew certification annually. Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment. Required to work during

Major Duties/Essential Functions:
Patrols halls and school grounds to monitor and address student behavior. Enforces regulations regarding conduct, speed limits, and parking regulations. May interpret regulations for students. Issues parking permits, stickers, tickets, and as necessary, towing letters. Makes police and court contacts as necessary. Arranges transport for students during medical emergencies. Monitors students from other schools to eliminate disturbances and to enforce trespassing regulations. As assigned, participates in maintaining discipline at student activities. Proctors tests. Acts as liaison between students and teachers. Using student confidentiality guidelines, keeps reports on students' activities, behavior, and attendance. Advises administrators of repeat offenders. Maintains student control, as required. May provide other community and county resource information. May have responsibility for the issuance of lockers to students. May have responsibility for students assigned to an alternative instruction class to include ensuring that students have prearranged assignments or distributing assignments prepared by classroom teachers and keeping students schoolwork task-oriented. Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
This job operates in a school environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This job requires sufficient strength, mobility, and agility to patrol school hallways and grounds, to deter and/or restrain students to prevent injury in cases of unruly behavior.
