Full-time, Temporary (for the duration of the fair) We are seeking a vigilant, reliable, and proactive Security Supervisor to lead our team in ensuring the safety and security of the Clark County Fair. As a key member of our leadership onsite, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure, orderly, and enjoyable environment for all attendees, vendors, and staff. This role requires a decisive professional who can lead by example, problem-solve independently with high integrity, and manage both team dynamics and public safety effectively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Support:
Oversee event staff and security guards on the floor. Actively manage shift rotations to ensure team members receive their required breaks, and seamlessly step into posts to provide coverage whenever and wherever needed.
De-escalation & Conflict Resolution:
Act as the primary point of escalation for disturbances, utilizing advanced verbal de-escalation techniques to defuse tense situations calmly, professionally, and safely.
Independent Problem-Solving:
Identify, assess, and resolve operational or security issues on the fly with minimal supervision, always maintaining a high standard of personal and professional integrity.
Accountability & Compliance:
Hold guard staff and fair attendees accountable to fair policies, safety procedures, and code of conduct expectations.
Patrol Oversight:
Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, overseeing both static-access points and roving assignments to deter incidents and identify potential hazards.
Access Control & Monitoring:
Ensure strict enforcement of badge verification and visitor sign-ins at restricted areas.
Emergency Response:
Lead prompt, effective responses to emergencies, acting lawfully and decisively in direct defense of life or property.
Incident Reporting:
Investigate signs of disorder or policy violations, ensuring detailed, accurate, and professional incident reports are documented and compiled. Supervisory Assignments (Include but are not limited to):
Alcohol Monitoring Supervision:
Oversee checkpoints and designated areas to monitor consumption, ensuring compliance with fair policies and state legal regulations.
Gate & Bag Check Operations:
Supervise thorough and courteous security screening at entry points, ensuring prohibited items do not enter the fairgrounds.
Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in security, with a preference for prior supervisory, military, law enforcement, or large-scale event leadership experience.
Guard Card:
Must possess a current and active Washington Unarmed Guard Card.
Core Competencies:
Proven ability to de-escalate high-stress situations, problem-solve independently, and maintain uncompromised integrity.
Physical Ability:
Must be physically capable of standing, walking, and commanding a presence for extended periods (8-12 hour shifts) in an outdoor environment, and able to react quickly to emergencies.
Availability:
Must have completely open availability full-time from July 30th to August 11th , including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and late nights to accommodate fair operating hours. Schedule Shifts range from 8 to 12 hours. Day, Evening, Night, and Overnight shifts available; flexibility is required to support team needs. Why Join Our Team? Full-time Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Application Question(s): Do you have an active unarmed guard card? If so when does it expire? What is your guard card number? Do you have your own reliable transportation? (Public is not reliable) This is a straight weeks of work during the duration of the fair you must be available all days. (Days range from Aug 5th through August 22nd) We have Morning/Swing/Graves spots are limited please let us know which shift works best for you.
