Armed Public Safety Officer Location:

In this vital role, you will proactively monitor and protect people, property, and assets through vigilant surveillance, conflict management, and emergency response. Whether patrolling premises, conducting inspections, or collaborating with law enforcement agencies, you'll play a crucial part in maintaining order and ensuring safety at all times. Responsibilities Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter misconduct and identify potential hazards or security breaches Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV to observe activity and respond swiftly to suspicious behavior or incidents Enforce security policies by verifying credentials of visitors, contractors, and staff before granting access Respond promptly to emergencies and coordinating with emergency services Manage conflicts through effective conflict management techniques, de-escalating tense situations professionally Document incidents thoroughly through detailed reports and logs for future review and action Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or vandalism activities and implementing preventative measures Experience Proven experience in law enforcement, military service, security operations, or related fields demonstrating strong safety acumen Familiarity with surveillance tools such as CCTV systems and security technology platforms Maryland Certification as Guard officer Maryland wear and carry permit Proof of attendance of the 12-hour guard training as required by the state of Maryland correctional department Knowledge of conflict management strategies to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively Ability to work independently with a high level of vigilance while maintaining excellent communication skills Prior experience in loss prevention or security roles is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
