The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Gaming Integrity Specialist to help protect and monitor the integrity of lottery operations statewide. In this essential role, you'll provide real-time oversight of draw operations, lead investigative efforts related to fraud and irregularities, and ensure that every aspect of our gaming process meets the highest standards of transparency and compliance. Responsibilities:
Enforce procedural integrity during daily ball machine drawings. Track ticket inventory discrepancies and manage status changes. Perform prize structure testing to ensure fair play. Analyze high-risk claims, conduct interviews, and assess fraud potential. Investigate incidents of theft or fraud involving retailers or players. Coordinate with law enforcement and internal departments. Verify large claims using encrypted systems and structured risk analysis Conduct winner interviews to assess legitimacy and prevent fraud Monitor draw data, security alerts, and facility surveillance systems Conduct periodic emergency equipment tests and security protocol checks
Requirements:
Associate's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience (Bachelor's degree preferred) Strong background in investigations, risk assessment, or law enforcement Proven ability to analyze data, write reports, and interpret financial records Proficiency in Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and investigative tools Clear, professional communication and excellent judgment under pressure Willingness to work flexible or extended hours as needed Hiring for 8AM to 8PM swing shift: Responsible for backfilling other shifts when personnel are on PTO (5am-5pm, 12pm-12 am, 2pm-2am) Based on a modified DuPont schedule (2 week cycle: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun, Wed, Thur) •This position is designated as essential and is NOT eligible for telework.•
Hiring Rate:
$48,756 (This nonexempt position will be hired at or near the posted rate. Does not include built in overtime or holiday pay). Overtime pay is approximately an additional $1,820 annually
