Job Description
Position Summary PChange Protective Services is seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused Unarmed Security Officers to provide safety and security services at BWI Airport. Officers are responsible for maintaining a secure environment for passengers, employees, vendors, and airport property while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced transportation setting. Security Officers must demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, situational awareness, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to incidents and emergencies. Key Responsibilities Patrol assigned airport areas on foot or in a vehicle Monitor terminals, entrances, checkpoints, parking areas, and restricted zones Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations Enforce airport rules, security procedures, and company policies Provide customer service and assist travelers with directions or general questions Conduct access control and credential verification when required Complete detailed incident, activity, and daily reports Respond appropriately to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents Coordinate with airport authorities, law enforcement, and emergency personnel when necessary Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED preferred Valid Maryland Security Guard certification/license required Previous security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience preferred Ability to pass background screening and airport clearance requirements Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required Must be authorized to work in the United States Preferred Skills Experience working in airports, transportation hubs, or high-traffic facilities Conflict de-escalation and report-writing experience Ability to remain calm under pressure Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills Work Environment Indoor and outdoor airport environments Shift work including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight schedules Fast-paced public setting with frequent interaction with travelers and staff Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay Opportunities for overtime Flexible scheduling Training and career advancement opportunities Uniforms provided
